About us

We carry out research on the ecology and biology of zooplankton and fish that live in both coastal and open-ocean (the pelagic realm) marine systems. This relies on combinations of acoustic (scientific echo sounders) and netting techniques to sample zooplankton/fish and gather data enabling us to estimate their abundance and map their distribution. We are seeking to understand processes that alter abundance and distribution, and the consequences that changes in the zooplankton and fish have for higher trophic levels (predators) and fisheries.
